No … this is not another Facebook before and after pic. These are two men that you may know:
Rob Lowe (on the left) has been in many movies and TV shows. Maybe you know him?
He was heart throb galore in the 80’s. He was the Tiger Beat magazine cover. Okay acting chops. Really liked him in Austin Powers.
Wilfred Brimley (right) is from the Cocoon movies. I don’t know much about him but he was great in those movies and the Quaker oatmeal commercials.
The amazing thing about this pic is NOT the fact that they’re both accomplished actors.
The amazing this about his photo is they are both 50 YEARS OLD in these photos!! 😮
Now mind you…
Rob may have got a bit of plastic surgery done. Maybe he’s taken a few hormone supplements in his day 😉
You can’t defy age that well without putting in the work.
The unfortunate thing is that most men feel like they’re headed down a path of declining performance and fat gain.
I used to believe that too.
I used to think that getting old would suck big time.
I used to believe in the myth that after the age of 35 and up we are relegated to a life of feeling shittier and shittier because of getting older.
Boy I was ever wrong…
It wasn’t until I started to take my health seriously that I began to understand that the human body can be a high performance machine (at ANY age).
When I changed my beliefs and transformed how my body looked, felt and performed it felt like I was given a a thousand 5 hour energy drinks that lasted all day until I went to sleep.
I felt a passion for life as a result of transforming my health.
Taking care of my body and health gave me a new perspective…it gave me a new baseline of how I felt every day.
And this feeling positively affected every single area of my life.
The simple feeling of being confident in my health and body was something that no one could take from me.
It also made me realize that you anyone… and I mean ANYONE… can feel, look and perform better than they did in their 20’s IF they do the right things.
I may be in the minority but I know for a fact that aging should be a glorious process. It all depends on how we choose to age.
TRUE wealth starts with taking care of the “meat machine” we call our bodies.
And the cool thing about our machines is that we can *soup* it up! We can add a new exhaust, put in a new engine in there, get some new wheels and some spinning rims…
We can literally “pimp our ride” and make our bodies into high performance machines 🏎️ (Just don’t put a dvd player in the backseat mmmmmk?)
So how do you do it?
How do you start reversing your age and feeling better? How do you build a better performing body that gives us more energy and vitality in life?
Step #1 – Give up the complexity.
Step #2 – Focus on the BASICS.
Lift some heavy weights to start building that muscle.
Eat 80-90% whole foods in a way that is natural and easy for you and eat a bit less than you need.
Do some mobility to make your body feel better, move better and avoid injury.
These are the ULTIMATE age preventing “tricks” gently packaged in a box called “work”.
Entrepreneurs…especially entrepreneurs… They wanna hook up so many doo-dads to their bodies and get blood work done, do all sorts of tests and “hack” their ways to a better performing body…
When all they really need to do is strength train consistently, eat a little less calories and strive to keep their body fat levels at the very least under 20%.
You know … the simple things 🙂
Let’s end this off because I’m getting a bit ranty…
Let’s avoid the TLDR path to your peak performing body.
Choose the “process” over the fads.
Choose the long term sustainable path instead of diet and workout tricks that devalue your time.
Let’s embrace the “work” to feel more alive and confident with our bodies and selves.
Aging should be a glorious process.
We should be seeking growth with our bodies and not settle for the myths about declining performance.
Because peace of body truly leads to peace of mind.
Have a great week!
