We made it to the 2nd quarter of 2020. I love the air of a new quarter. It’s a chance to start fresh and set new goals.
Which goals would you want to accomplish by the time this quarter is over? If you’re game reply back and let me know.
Here’s 1 idea from me, 1 exercise and an article to help enhance your home workouts…
1 BIG IDEA FROM ME
Feeling hungry between your meals?
Take the 20 minute rule.
Give yourself 20 minutes and do something that occupies your time or attention. TV or web browsing doesn’t count here.
When you wait 20 minutes before giving in you give your body time to make the hunger go away.
The key is to stay busy during these 20 minutes.
Do a task that keeps your mind pre-occupied and productive.
Hunger can be erratic and you shouldn’t heed the call every time you hear it.
Just like an apple a day keeps the doctor away…
20 minutes of busyness keeps hunger at bay.
1 EXERCISE THAT’S CHANGED MY LIFE
This is one of my favourite resistance bands exercises.
Sumo deadlifts is a compound movement that work your hips, adductors and glutes.
The trick to doing these is to keep the spine neutral while squeezing your glutes to finish off the move.
It works multiple muscles and gets harder as you do more repetitions.
If the weight is too light then add another band to increase tension.
Enjoy!
1 Article to Enhance Your Home Workouts
How to make gains without a gym by Stronger By Science
Great article by Greg Nuckols and the team.
I counted about 30+ exercises they have in that article that can enhance your home workouts.
If you’re looking for more options/exercises for your workouts then use this article as the guide to do it.
I’d also pair this article up with the Resistance band training email I just sent out.
Utilizing your bodyweight and band training can make you a badass by the time you get back to the gym.
While everyone is starting from ground zero you’ll hit the ground running.
See you next week
